Hot Events on the Emerald CoastPosted on 08/21/13
If you love to play, work and live on the beaches of Northwest Florida, you’re in luck this late summer and fall. Summer is winding down along the Emerald Coast but that just means it’s time for the area’s best local events and festivals to get started!
Fort Walton Beach, Destin and the surrounding communities are packed with activities come late summer and fall. Temps are still warm, the weather is generally beautiful and the locals are ready to get out and enjoy our scenery. So, where’s the best place to catch a good time? The Destin Harbor, of course! Whether you intend to climb aboard a local charter and literally catch a good time, or simply wander Harborwalk Village, you’re sure to stumble upon a good time.
Head out this August and September to catch the remaining summer celebrations, such as Red, White and Blue, as well as annual festivals such as the Kitty Hawk Kite Festival. The docks will also rock with weekly concerts through the end of September. Come October it’s time for one of the best events of the area, the Destin Seafood Festival and Fishing Rodeo. If you live on the Gulf Coast, be sure to make your plans to attend these great events.
